The Wings to Fly Program offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) programs, targeting both personal and professional development in the form of groups, workshops and private sessions. Wings to Fly programs seek to build upon already existing strengths within individuals, while challenging clients to discover new strategies, which improve the way the client interacts in the world. Working with our professional Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA certified) therapists and horse specialists, you can:

  • Discover a solution-focused approach to current issues or problems

  • Experience your ability to be flexible and risk finding new ways to address problems or new areas of growth in your life.

  • Connect with the infinite beauty, power, and non-judgmental integrity of horses in therapy or learning sessions.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) are accomplished through experiential learning. The process begins by talking to a therapist about what you wish to work on. Then you arrive and step into a situation set up by that therapist which will allow you to work on that type of issue with one or more horses. Through actually experiencing what did and did not work while completing the set up situation, clients learn and practice new strategies to achieve their goals in life. Many times there is little verbal communication, as the horse provides its own, non-judgmental, critical feedback experientially in the moment. As prey animals, horses are acutely aware of everything we feel as opposed to what we say verbally. That is what they respond to and how a client really sees what does and does not work in how they are handling a situation.

Equine Assisted psychotherapy is a solution based brief therapy for individuals, couples, groups and families, including general health & lifeskills, transformational therapy, mental health, trauma therapy, substance abuse treatment and at-risk youth programs.

Equine Assisted Learning is focused upon personal development both at home and in the workplace, including honing skills related to corporate leadership training, teambuilding activities, effective communication in the workplace, management strategies and conflict resolution. Transformational group and individual learning is also available in this arena as well as our new Medical sensitivity training group program, which teaches empathy and real communication between medical personnel and patients. This new program can also be used by any professional person or group who feels that they are not communicating well with their clientele or that they do not empathize and understand their clientele.
